Gov’t assures projects will be completed in accordance with pledges

The President’s Office has stated the projects commenced to fulfill pledges made by President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih will be completed during his current term.

Speaking at a press conference, the Spokesperson at the President’s Office Miuvaan Mohamed said a large number of development projects will be completed during this term, despite the delays due to changes in the global economy. He highlighted that 90% of the presidential pledges have been fulfilled and there is no question that the ongoing development projects will be completed soon.

The presidential pledges include increasing the salaries of teachers and implementing a minimum wage, while the government plans to increase the wages for health workers next year. Spokesperson Miuvaan said the development of the health sector will be prioritised next year, with USD324 million allocated for the initiative. He also said that pledges made by President Solih are achievable and that citizens will receive the full benefits of many of the projects next year.
