Ban'didhoo Island Council has highlighted the administration's equitable development policy and expressed its gratitude for its developmental plans for islands with smaller population sizes. The remarks were made during a meeting in which President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih met with the island council and women's development committee (WDC) members of Ban'didhoo in Dhaalu Atoll.
During the meeting held at the President's Office, the council members noted the projects in Dhan'bidhoo, which are in various stages of development, including the water and sewerage network, volleyball court, and family park projects. The members also shared with the president the most pertinent needs of the island community. Discussions were held about waste management, boatyard, and other industrial activities. The members also highlighted the need for additional classrooms and a multipurpose hall in the school, coastal protection, a new building for the Secretariat of the Council, and the development of an ice plant. The WDC members shared with the President concerns related to financial and space constraints.
At the meeting, President Solih shared the latest details of the island's ongoing and planned developmental projects at the meeting. He said that the coastal protection project is in the bidding process and that funds have been earmarked in the budget to develop four classrooms. He also said that the administration would make efforts to add a multipurpose hall to the school and that the administration would work towards finding amicable solutions to other issues raised at the meeting.
