Road development of Hulhumale' Phase 2 to conclude next month

Housing Development Corporation (HDC) has revealed the road development of Hulhumale' Phase 2 will be concluded next month. HDC said it is currently conducting the installation of road lights and construction of the pavements.

Hulhumale' is a smart city developed by the government under a master plan. The early settlers of the city were populated in 2004. The road development in the populated areas commenced after families settled in the first phase. However, the road development was launched in phase 2 before any major projects or housing projects were launched in the area.

Speaking to PSM News, Senior Transport Planner of HDC Adam Ameen said 96% of the road development project is now completed and it is expected to complete the whole project within the first weeks of December. He added 17km of road have been developed under the phase 2 road development project.

The population of Hulhumale' is expected to be around 90,000, according to statistics from HDC.
