Temporary list of applicants of Thimarafushi row houses published

Thimarafushi Island Council has published the temporary list of applicants for the row houses being developed on the island.

Speaking to PSM News, President of Thimarafushi Island Council Ismail Ibrahim said 320 applications have been received and that complaints regarding the temporary list should be submitted by December 5. He added that the row houses will be handed over after the applications are evaluated. He added that Fenaka Corporation Limited is establishing electricity, water supply, and sewerage connections for the row houses and that all the work will be completed by February next year.

The government contracted SJ Construction Private Limited to construct 100 row houses in Thimarafushi in 2020. Under the agreement, the company built 100 row houses, each spanning 1,000sqft and consisting of three rooms, three toilets, a sitting room, and a laundry area. The value of the project is USD4.63 million. The construction of the houses has been completed and the company is currently completing the finishing works.

The Ministry of National Planning, Housing and Infrastructure opened applications for the 100 row houses in July. The government will be handing over the row houses to applicants under two categories. Category A consists of 83 row houses, while Category B consists of 15 row houses. The other two row houses will be given to the island council.
