IASL increases access baggage fee

Island Aviation Services Limited (IASL) has increased the access baggage fee.

IASL said passengers travelling from the national carrier, Maldivian, can carry 20kg free of charge. The airline has now increased the price of additional kilograms.

Speaking to PSM News, Deputy Managing Director of Maldivian, Aishath Jennifer said the access baggage fee has been increased after considering the rates charged by other airlines operated in the Maldives. She also noted the rates currently charged by Maldivian are lower than other airlines.

Furthermore, Jennifer said the airline has taken into account many factors in increasing the price of access baggage fees. As such, she added the price of fuel has risen, and travelling heavier will also result in an increase in fuel price.
