The Maldives National University (MNU) has awarded its book writing and research grants to eight recipients.

MNU awarded the book writing grants to four recipients. They are Ahmed Shareef, Dr. Aishath Shanoora, Mariyam Ifshan, and Maumoona Abdulla. The research grants were awarded to Dr. Shaik Syed Ali Pakeer, Shinaza Mohamed, Dr. Zeba Un Naher, and Dr. Aishath Shanoora.

The book writing grant aims to increase the number of books published in the Maldives by assisting writers in writing and releasing their work. A total of USD12,000 will be distributed to the recipients.

Research grants are given to promote and encourage faculty/centre research and external funding of that research by distributing funds for the support of scholarly research projects. The staff of MNU and full-time research students are allowed to apply for the grants. A total of USD101,000 will be distributed to the recipients.
