President vows to begin Hoarafushi Hospital development soon

President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has vowed to fulfill his pledge to develop the Hoafaushi Hospital soon.

Speaking at a campaign event in Hoafaushi, Haa Alifu Atoll, President Solih said the hospital development project would be completed by his next visit to the island and assured that he will not ignore any of his pledges. He said that the hospital development project is in the tendering stage and that it will be contracted to a company that is willing to work nonstop until construction is completed.

Additionally, President Solih highlighted the completed projects in Hoarafushi, including the development of the airport, football grounds, coastal protection structures, and the ice plant. He said that the projects to build a water bottling plant are nearing completion while the development of an island council office building, roads, volleyball court, and the juvenile justice unit branch are ongoing.

Furthermore, President Solih visited Ihavandhoo, Haa Alifu Atoll, and vowed to develop a fish processing plant on the island. He noted that the administration has spent USD8.4 million for the development of Ihavandhoo, USD2.2 million and USD3 million for the nearby Maarandhoo and Molhadhoo respectively.
