Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) has revealed that preparations are underway to launch Raajje Transport Link (RTL) minibus service in Villimale' before the end of January.
The state-owned company said the latest environmentally friendly buses will be in operation in Villimale. MTCC said preparations are now underway to extend the RTL bus service to Villimale, which is not currently connected to Male' City and Hulhumale'.
MTCC stated that a total of six electronic vehicles (EV) buses will be used to provide bus services. The buses will have seats for 11 passengers and standing space for four passengers. The company brought the buses to the Maldives in November 2022. MTCC said the route map and schedule information for the RTL Villimale bus service will be announced soon.
As the largest transportation service provider in the Maldives, MTCC aims to provide affordable and convenient sea and land transport services to the public.
