President vows to complete 90% of developmental projects this term

President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has vowed to complete 90% of the ongoing developmental projects by the end of the current term. He made the remarks while addressing a campaign gathering held with members of the main ruling Maldivian Democratic Party (MDP) in Kurinbi, Haa Dhaalu Atoll.

Speaking at the gathering, President Solih said the administration’s policy is to prioritise projects to develop essential services. He said that all inhabited islands will have water and sewerage services by the end of the current term and vowed to complete 90% of all ongoing developmental projects this term. He noted that the administration commenced the projects equitably across all inhabited islands.

Furthermore, President Solih highlighted the ongoing projects in Kurinbi and said that the water and sewerage projects will be completed soon, while Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) has been contracted to upgrade the island’s jetty.
He highlighted that the administration has spent USD1.9 million on the island’s development and USD4 million in subsidies.

President Solih said that more projects will commence in Kurinbi in the future and that the current projects are an investment to solve longstanding issues. He added that the investment will result in better economic prospects for the island.
