Housing Development Corporation (HDC) has signed an agreement to introduce Smart Solutions to Thoddoo, Alifu Alifu Atoll.
Under the agreement, HDC will be establishing an Open Access Network in Thoddoo and use it for Smart Farming, Smart Surveillance, and a Smart Bench. The state-owned company stated it aims to unlock connectivity and Smart Solutions for the Island.
HDC has installed an Open Access Network, Smart Pole, And Smart Bench in Hulhumale’ as part of its Smart City Solutions, and aims to take its expertise to other islands. The company has an ambitious vision of building Smart and connected communities and is paving the way for Hulhumale' to become a digitally thriving Smart City under a unique brand called Smartcom.
Accordingly, HDC has been investing in digital infrastructure, identifying and leveraging new technologies and Smart Solutions to bring about sustainable urban development, ensuring social participation, increasing mobility, and creating a safer, cleaner environment and a livable city.
