The Bar Council of the Maldives (BCM) has begun issuing the results of the Bar Exam 2022 and revealed that 18 examinees are in the Top Achievers List. It was the first bar licensing exam to be administered in the history of the Maldivian legal profession.
BCM stated that 68% of the examinees passed the exam and congratulated them for their high performance, and the top scorers for their excellent achievements. It noted that the average mark attained by examinees was 66%, and 18 examinees made it to the Top Achievers List. The highest performing cohort of the examinees represent a significant percentage of graduates from the Maldives National University with seven, followed by University of London with six, and Villa College with four.
The Top Achievers will be honoured by the Bar Council at the Bar Admissions Ceremony, which is scheduled to be held on February 20.
BCM held the first national bar exam in November 2022. The bar exam was held with 176 examinees in Male' City and Addu City and had a 98.3% turnout for both the morning and afternoon sessions.
