MPL receives new vehicles for Male’ Commercial Harbour

Maldives Ports Limited (MPL) has received new vehicles to boost output at the Male’ Commercial Harbour.

MPL received four Reach Stackers, which are used for handling cargo containers at ports. The company stated the vehicles will be ready to accommodate the high demand and traffic during the month of Ramadan. The new vehicles will be used to transfer 40ft fully loaded containers to loading crafts.

The number of food imports during Ramadan last year was higher than in the previous three years. Similar to previous years, MPL will prepare for Ramadan by allocating vehicles to speed up the unloading process at ports in response to the increase in the import of cargo, especially perishable goods.
