Fishermen's fuel supply centre to be developed in Mulah

Fuel Supplies Maldives Private Limited (FSM) has held discussions for the development of a fishermen’s fuel supply centre in Muluh, Meemu Atoll.

The discussions with Mulah Island Council took place as part of the government's initiative to provide easy access to cheap fuel to fishermen in different parts of the country. Managing Director Mohamed Gasam met with the Muluh Island Council for the discussions.

FSM recently began providing fuel services to fishermen at the Felivaru Fisheries Complex. In addition, FSM began fuel services to fishermen from the Hulhumale' Fishermen's Jetty last November at the same rate as the Maldives Industrial Fisheries Company (MIFCO) sells diesel to fishermen. FSM announced that the special rate would be issued only to registered fishing vessels. MIFCO sells diesel to fishing boats at USD1.14 per litre from its fishing purchasing vessels and centres.

FSM is the largest fuel supplier in the Maldives and supplies fuel to 97% of the islands in the Maldives.
