Maldivian Aviation Academy conducts simulated flight training

The Maldives Aviation Academy (MAA) has completed its first-ever simulated flight training programme.

Speaking to PSM News, the Head of MAA Sultan Ramiz said that five students participated in the training programme. He said the programme aims to help students complete the required hours in the stimulator before becoming pilots. Under the programme, he said it is compulsory for students to complete three hours in the stimulator before becoming pilots.

The MAA is a collaboration between Island Aviation Services Limited (IASL), Maldives National University (MNU), and the Czech Republic-based Flying Academy. MAA officially commenced classes on January 10, 2022. It currently has a total of 25 students. Most of the students were previously studying at the Asian Academy of Aeronautics in Addu City. In addition, the academy is preparing to train a new batch of students in June this year. The academy is also working to introduce more programmes in the future.
