Vice President Faisal Naseem has stated that the government will continue to train school principals in a sustainable manner. He made the statement while inaugurating a function to hand over appointment letters to graduates of the Principals' Scholarship programme.
Speaking at the function, Vice President Naseem said the government has done more in the past four years to build individuals than ever before. He noted that the training of principals is the first such initiative in recent history. In addition, he said a school can only provide quality education if principals are competent. He, therefore, expressed hope that schools are run at the best level in light of the training provided to the principals. He also said the efforts of the government to build the country will not stop and 10 more scholarships will be opened soon.
Ministry of Education launched the programme to create qualified principals in a planned and sustainable manner and handed over appointment letters to the first batch of 18 principals in March last year. They also left for Malaysia for training in the same month and completed their training at the University of Malaya in Kuala Lumpur. The programme will be implemented over a period of three years and all expenses will be covered by the government.
