The Maldives Islamic Bank (MIB) has opened a self-service banking ATM to deposit and withdraw US dollars. It is the first USD ATM opened by MIB in Male' City.
MIB stated that the ATM will facilitate USD transactions for customers with MIB dollar accounts. The ATM has machines for withdrawal and deposit of dollars. MIB stated each customer can withdraw USD1,000 daily, a maximum of USD5,000 every month, and make deposits of up to USD12,000 daily. In addition, MIB stated that a card is not required to deposit dollars. MIB is also offering cardless deposit services at its Maldivian Rufiyaa ATMs.
MIB is making efforts to expand and facilitate services. MIB has recently opened an ATM in Villimale' to provide cash withdrawal and deposit services.
