HPA to make public establishments that violate regulations

The Health Protection Agency (HPA) has threatened to make public information about food establishments that are violating regulations.

HPA is monitoring the cleanliness of food and beverage establishments during the month of Ramadan. HPA stated in an announcement that it has found that some food establishments are operating in violation of the regulations. However, the agency did not specify which establishments were identified.

Under the regulations, food services must be provided with the permission of the HPA or an individual designated by the agency. However, HPA stated that some establishments are violating these regulations. As such, the agency has warned it will make public the information about the food service establishments that violate the regulations.

The number of food establishments increases during Ramadan. HPA is currently taking action against some food service establishments for poor hygiene. These include imposing fines and closing such establishments.
