Hulhumale’ Hospital has revealed that dialysis services expanded to 24hrs in efforts to treat the increasing number of individuals suffering from kidney disease.
The hospital began providing services for dialysis patients in 2012. Since then, the hospital has been working to improve the quality of service by instilling various changes. Over the past 11 years, 189 individuals have registered with the hospital, and 54 patients receiving ongoing treatment.
Speaking to PSM News, Director Public Relations Abdulla Mauroof said that the Hulhumale' Hospital has expanded its services as the number of patients seeking dialysis services increases. As such, he said that the service time which was initially at certain hours has now been changed to 24hrs.
The dialysis centre located at the Hulhumale' Hospital currently has 10 beds with one reserved for emergencies. Following the change in the service time, four sessions of dialysis will also be available daily. The hospital noted that up to nine patients can seek services at any time in each of the sessions.
