SJ Construction contracted to build district court in Addu

The government has contracted SJ Construction Private Limited for the construction of a court complex in Addu City. The agreement was signed by Chief Judicial Administrator at the Department of Judicial Administration Aishath Rizna and the Director of SJ Construction Shihad Ibrahim.

SJ Construction is tasked with completing the project within 360 days at a cost of USD7.9 million from the administration's Public Sector Investment Programme (PSIP) budget. The project will solve the space constraints of the courts in Addu.

The court building to be built in Addu is the first of the district courts to be established in different parts of the country. It will bring the services of the courts in Addu into one building.
