Discussions held to explore strategies to ensure transportation for pilgrims

Vice President Faisal Naseem has held discussions to explore strategies for ensuring efficient transportation arrangements for pilgrims. The discussions were held with during a meeting with senior officials from the institutions responsible for overseeing the administration of Hajj this year.

During the meeting, Vice President Naseem expressed gratitude to all relevant institutions for their valuable cooperation and support in successfully organising the transportation of the pilgrims to the Velana International Airport (VIA) over the past four years, which he described as highly commendable. He emphasised that President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih had entrusted him with overseeing and closely monitoring the preparations for this year's Hajj season to ensure its smooth execution. As in previous years, a dedicated committee would be established to supervise the preparations and operations.

Furthermore, Vice President Naseem highlighted the commitment to facilitate seamless transportation for the Hajj pilgrims. This year, the Maldives has been allocated a quota of 1,000 pilgrims. Arrangements would be made to utilise transportation services from Male' City, Hulhumale', and Villingili, including buses, ferries, and speedboats, to transport the pilgrims to the airport.
