SME Hubs to be established in north and south of Maldives

Business Centre Corporation (BCC) has announced plans to develop small and medium enterprises (SME) Hubs in the north and south of the Maldives.

Speaking to PSM News, Director at Authentic Maldives Mohamed Jaushan said SME Hubs will be established in the north and south to provide more opportunities for businesses in those regions to develop their businesses. He said discussions are underway to establish SME Hubs in Kulhudhuffushi in Haa Dhaalu Atoll, and Addu City, adding that the projects will begin soon.

BCC is currently operating an SME Hub in Male’ City. The SME Hub is located on the third floor of the Allied Building. The three-floor commercial hub is developed as a mall and offers kiosks to SMEs to promote their services and sell their products.

SME Hubs aim to solve the challenges faced by small businesses by providing them with opportunities to market and sell their products. The hubs also aim to empower home-based businesses by giving them a platform to do business and support entrepreneurship.
