Ministry of Environment, Climate Change and Technology has begun preparations to launch the eFaas mobile application in two weeks.
An early access version of the eFaas Mobile application was released for the first 500 Android and iOS users in February. The ministry has now decided to publicly launch the final version of the eFaas mobile application along with the national digital identification (ID) card.
Speaking to PSM News, Minister of State Mohamed Shareef the digital ID can be used to access numerous services and that the ministry will be making improvements based on user feedback after launching the mobile application.
The eFaas application was developed by the National Centre for Information Technology (NCIT) and serves as the digital ID system used by government and state agencies to provide online services. NCIT has added security features to the application to protect user information.
The application supports Dhivehi and English languages. However, information transferred from one institution to another will be in the language required by the agency. Users will have to go through a verification process before using the application to prevent the fraudulent use of personal information.
