Banks to open on June 26 during Eid holidays

The Maldives Monetary Authority (MMA) has announced that banking services will be provided on June 26 during the upcoming Eid al-Adha holidays.

MMA stated that the Bank of Maldives (BML) and the Maldives Islamic Bank (MIB) will provide services from 0830hrs-1400hrs on June 26. BML and MIB have requested customers to use Internet banking and mobile applications during the holidays. Self-service banking centres across the country will also continue to provide services 24hrs a day despite bank closures. In addition, BML customers will be able to access basic banking services through cash agents established in inhabited islands.

The government has declared June 23 to July 1 as public holidays with Eid al-Adha falling on June 28.
