Vice President inspects progress of school construction projects

Vice President Faisal Naseem has inspected the progress of the construction at Dharumavantha School and Salahuddin School.

Vice President Naseem visited the Dharumavantha School project site in Male’ City and Salahuddin School in Hulhumale’ and inquired about the progress of the fieldwork as well as the schools’ facilities and teaching arrangements. He was accompanied by Minister of Education Dr. Aishath Ali and officials of the education ministry and utility companies.

The development of the new building of Dharumavantha School was contracted to SJ Construction Private Limited while Amin Construction is tasked with constructing Salahuddin School. The two schools have a capacity of 1,000 students and are scheduled to be opened for the new academic year.

The new Dharumavantha School is developed as the first school under the concept of holistic education. The school will have 41 classrooms with a capacity of 25 students per classroom. The school will also include a two-storey library as well as facilities for sports and other extra-curricular activities.

Meanwhile, Salahuddin School will be the first school to be opened in Hulhumale’ Phase II. The school consists of six floors and a capacity of 1,000 to 1,200 students.
