New Agreements Signed to Attract Tourists to Maldives

The Maldives Marketing and Public Relations Corporation Limited (MMPRC) has signed four agreements aimed at promoting the Maldives to global markets.

The MMPRC is undertaking significant efforts to promote the Maldives at the Arabian Travel Market (ATM) fair currently ongoing at the Dubai World Trade Centre from 29 April to 1 May. Four agreements have been signed so far to promote tourism around the globe during the fair.

The Memoranda of Understanding (MoU)s were signed by MMPRC’s Managing Director Ibrahim Shiury at a signing ceremony attended by the Minister of Tourism and Environment Thorig Ibrahim.

The first agreement was signed with Emirates Airlines, under which the airline will work to promote Maldives across its network. MMPRC and Emirates Airlines will collaborate to promote Maldives businesses internationally.

The next agreement was signed with Qatar Airways, to promote Maldives tourism across different markets. The airline has also pledged to work to increase the number of tourists visiting the Maldives.

An MoU was also signed to promote Maldives tourism in the Russian and CIS markets. The agreement signed with the Maldives’ Resort Life Travel Pvt Ltd will enable Resort Life Travel to work with the MMPRC to attract more tourists from the two regions. The MMPRC will also develop targeted marketing strategies with Resort Life Pvt Ltd, a company which is already active in the target market.

In addition to these agreement, MMPRC has also signed an MoU with the Tour Operators Association of India to increase the number of tourists visiting the Maldives from the Indian market. Under the agreement, India will work to increase the number of tourists visiting the Maldives.

MMPRC believes that with these agreements, the existing efforts to promote tourism in the Maldives will be further expanded.
