Ministry of National Planning, Housing and Infrastructure has contracted Road Development Corporation Limited (RDC) for the development of roads using asphalt in Gemanafushi, Gaafu Alifu Atoll. The agreement was signed by Permanent Secretary at Planning Ministry Zeeniya Ahmed Hameed and General Manager at RDC Hussain Nadheem.
The scope of the project includes laying asphalt on 2.8km of road and installing a storm drain system and street lights. The project has been contracted to RDC to be completed within 540 days at a cost of USD4.9 million.
Gemanafushi has a population of around 2,000 people.
