The government of the Maldives has revealed that all eligible applicants who applied for the first round of the Binveriyaa housing scheme will receive land plots. The statement was made by Minister of National Planning, Housing, and Infrastructure Mohamed Aslam during a press conference held to announce the list of recipients of the land plots.
During the press conference, Minister Aslam said that the government has received a significant number of applications for the Binveriyaa and Gedhoruveriyaa housing schemes. He reassured the public that the government has developed a comprehensive plan to address the housing crisis effectively and that all eligible applicants will be allocated land plots. He further informed that the list of recipients for the initial 5,000 land plots under the Binveriyaa scheme has already been published and the government will ensure that the remaining qualified applicants will receive land plots in accordance with the established policy.
Additionally, Minister Aslam expressed confidence that the government's provision of land plots will bring relief to the residents of Male' City. He emphasised that the government is dedicated to tackling the housing issue comprehensively and is actively working towards expanding housing opportunities. He said the initiative is part of the broader strategy of developing the country.
As such, Minister Aslam highlighted the ongoing national development projects, which are strategically divided into three regions and six zones. He said these projects encompass the development of essential infrastructure, as well as travel and transport systems, contributing to the overall growth and development of the nation. He also urged the public to extend their support to these initiatives, as they play a crucial role in shaping a brighter future for the next five years.
