The Gedhoruveringe Committee has stated that eligible applicants that were unable to receive land plots under the Binveriyaa housing scheme have the chance to receive land plots by submitting joint applications. The decision was made in line with the government’s pledge to provide land plots to all eligible applicants who applied for the first round of the Binveriyaa housing scheme.
The Gedhoruveringe Committee stated that 23,088 individuals submitted 15,164 applications for the Binveriyaa scheme and that 19,858 individuals are eligible. The preliminary list shows that a total of 5,000 land plots will be allocated to 10,314 recipients in the first round of the Binveriyaa scheme.
The committee noted that 9,544 eligible applicants who have not been allocated land plots will have a higher chance of receiving land plots by submitting joint applications. Those who are qualified to send a joint request will be able to see the section dedicated to sending the request by logging into the relevant portal. They will also be able to look up the procedure for enabling joint requests.
The government will be providing 5,000 land plots to recipients under the first round of the Binveriyaa scheme. More than 1,500 plots will be allocated from Hulhumale' and the rest will be allocated from Giraavaru and Gulhifalhu. The final list of land plot recipients will be published after the government evaluates complaints for the recently published preliminary list. Individuals can submit complaints until July 15.
President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has made a pledge to provide land and flats to the residents of Male' City to solve the housing problem in the Greater Male' region. The government accepted applications through the Gedhoruverin Portal from June to September 2022. The government plans to give out 4,000 housing units under the Gedhoruveriyaa scheme and 5,000 land plots under the Binveriyaa scheme. The government received over 20,000 applications for housing units under the Gedhoruveriyaa scheme and over 15,000 applications for land plots under the Binveriyaa scheme.
