Final Binveriyaa list to be published after evaluating complaints

Ministry of National Planning, Housing, and Infrastructure has stated that the final list of land plot recipients under the Binveriyaa housing scheme will be published after evaluating the complaints regarding the preliminary list.

The preliminary list published in June shows that the government will be providing 5,000 land plots to 10,314 recipients under the first round of the Binveriyaa scheme. More than 1,500 plots will be allocated from Hulhumale' and the rest will be allocated from Giraavaru and Gulhifalhu. The final list of land plot recipients will be published after the government evaluates complaints for the preliminary list and individuals can submit complaints until July 15.

The public have already pointed out several issues regarding the preliminary list such as the inclusion of foreigners who received citizenship after marrying a Maldivian and individuals who have several land plots in other parts of the country. The ministry stated that it is evaluating the inclusion of three foreigners in the list, along with other complaints.

A total of 23,088 individuals submitted 15,164 applications for the Binveriyaa scheme, of which 19,858 individuals are eligible. The government has assured that all eligible applicants who applied for the first round of the Binveriyaa housing scheme will receive land plots.
