BCC concludes Thaanavaa literary carnival

Business Centre Corporation (BCC) has concluded the literary carnival, Thaanavaa.

Thaanavaa is the first such literary carnival held in the country. The two-day event was held at Central Park in Hulhumale’. The purpose of the event is to revive the Maldivian culture and literature and to provide the opportunity for those in the field of literature to showcase their skills and products.

The literary carnival featured Maldivian literary works which were available for sale. The event also hosted panel discussions, debates, and various literary competitions. In addition, around 30 stalls were established at the event. Stall owners described the event as a success and emphasised the importance of holding such events in the future to promote their businesses.

BCC stated that it wants to provide more commercial opportunities to those working in the field of literature and that the literary carnival is a unique event that is not only dedicated to writers but to everyone who has contributed to literature. BCC added that this is an opportunity to revive the Maldivian culture by opening up commercial opportunities and allowing those in the field to receive revenue.
