President urges scouts, guides to maintain high moral standards

President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih, who is also the Chief Scout of the Maldives, has addressed the members of the Scouts and Guides organisations attending the 25th World Scout Jamboree 2023. During the meeting, he urged the participants to fulfill their religious obligations, uphold national dignity, and maintain high moral standards.

President Solih emphasised the importance of instilling values that shape the character of young individuals, contributing to the building of a strong and prosperous nation. He encouraged the scouts and guides to observe national customs and regulations while attending the jamboree and to represent the Maldives in a positive light by adhering to all Jamboree rules.

Highlighting the benefits of participating in the jamboree, President Solih stressed the opportunities for engaging in new activities that would further their personal development. He expressed confidence in the exceptional talent of Maldivian Scouts on the global stage, pointing to the inclusion of a Maldivian Scout on the planning team for this year's jamboree as evidence of their capabilities. President Solih extended his congratulations to Scout Leader Ali Shafa'ath Manik for his role on the planning team.

In conclusion, President Solih encouraged all Jamboree participants to seize the opportunity to showcase their abilities and talents on an international platform. He presented the Maldivian flag to the contingent leader during the meeting, symbolising the unity and pride of the Maldivian delegation at the 25th World Scout Jamboree held in Korea from August 1 - 12. The Maldives is represented by a contingent of 425 members at the global event.
