President inaugurates water supply network, powerhouse in Meedhoo

President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has inaugurated the completion of a water supply project as well as the powerhouse and office of Fenaka Corporation Limited in Meedhoo, Dhaalu Atoll.

The newly developed Fenaka powerhouse and office are strategically located away from residential areas and have modern facilities. The initiative replaces the island's old powerhouse, built in the centre of a residential neighbourhood 22 years ago, and is part of the administration's commitment to addressing the challenges faced by residents.

Additionally, the water supply network was constructed by SMC Infrastructures Private Limited. The project was funded under a USD800 million line-of-credit agreement with the government of the Maldives and the EXIM Bank of India.

Under the leadership of President Solih, the administration has made significant strides toward achieving equitable development across all inhabited islands in the Maldives. The progress made includes enhancing the quality of life for citizens and empowering them to lead dignified lives.

During his visits to various islands, President Solih is officially inaugurating the completion of numerous projects and services.
