Bank of Maldives (BML) has announced that its American Express Debit Cards (AMEX) linked to MVR accounts will now be accepted worldwide.
BML stated that its AMEX card permits foreign transactions amounting to a maximum of USD250 each month. The limit is consistent with foreign transactions made via Visa debit cards. The bank stated that the development signifies the debut of foreign transaction capabilities for BML AMEX cards that are linked to MVR accounts.
BML has also indicated that its AMEX cards can now be linked to USD accounts for foreign purchases online and overseas since last year. Foreign transactions can be conducted within a daily default limit of USD3,000.
