HDC begins handing over Vinares flats to recipients

Housing Development Corporation Limited (HDC) has begun handing over the flats to the recipients of the Vinares Housing Project in Hulhumale' Phase II.

During the handover ceremony, Minister of State for National Planning, Housing, and Infrastructure Akram Kamaluddeen and Managing Director of HDC Ahmed Athif presented the recipients with a commemorative key. The project aims to provide housing units to individuals who vacated their units in Gulhifalhu, Sealife, and Hiyaa flats, as well as to those selected from the general public.

Speaking at the ceremony, Minister of State Kamaluddeen said that the Vinares flats are being given to individuals who were left without homes, after purchasing apartments from Gulhifalhu and Sealife, due to the actions of the previous government.

Also at the ceremony, Managing Director Athif said that companies have been assigned to establish essential services in the area, which will be kept as a comfortable place to live. He noted that design changes were made to improve this mid-range housing project and that commercial areas have been designated.

The Vinares housing project comprises 10 towers, encompassing a total of 1,344 housing units, all of which are three-room apartments. These flats are developed in four distinct concepts: 172 marina view flats, 372 outer view flats, 352 inner view flats, and 448 standard view flats. The marina view apartments offer a scenic view of the yacht marina and cruise terminal, while the inner view apartments provide a glimpse of the main roads. The outer view offers a cityscape, while the standard apartments are situated in the middle of the towers. The price range for these apartments is USD162,000 to USD198,000.

HDC initiated the opportunity for individuals to own flats from the Vinares housing project on July 18, 2022. During the application period, a total of 1,413 individuals applied for the flats. Urbanco meticulously evaluated the forms and released the final list of flat recipients in February of this year.
