President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has inaugurated newly completed infrastructure in Madduvari and Dhuvaafaru in Raa Atoll.
The projects, developed under his administration to improve the quality of life for residents on these islands, include a football ground, newly constructed roads, the completion of a land reclamation project in Dhuvaafaru, and an upgraded harbour in Madduvari.
During his visit to Madduvari, President Solih inaugurated the harbour upgrading project, developed by the Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC). As part of the project, MTCC reclaimed the harbour basin and channel in addition to developing a 582m quay wall and installing a 135m revetment.
Additionally, President Solih marked the completion of the land reclamation project during his visit to Dhuvaafaru. The project contracted to MTCC saw the addition of 22.2 hectares of land and the development of a protective revetment. He also marked the completion of the road construction project on Dhuvaafaru, which involved the construction of 5.7km of road by MTCC.
Furthermore, President Solih inaugurated the new football ground in Dhuvaafaru. MTCC constructed the subbase of the new football ground. Simultaneously, the turf installation was completed by V.A.M. Company Private Limited. and the light installation by CoreLine Maldives Private Limited. The improvements will provide a high-quality playing surface for local athletes and support the development of football on the island.
