Nazim pledges comprehensive development of Addu

Mohamed Nazim, the presidential candidate of the Maldives National Party (MNP), has pledged to implement a comprehensive development plan for Addu City, encompassing the creation of a yacht marina, a cruise terminal, and a sizable cinema complex.

Speaking at a campaign gathering in Hithadhoo, Nazim outlined his ambitious vision for the advancement of Addu. Under his vision, he committed to establishing a bridge connecting Hithadhoo to Hulhumeedhoo. Notably, he envisions the construction of a substantial international harbor with a capacity for 5,000 containers, complete with a duty-free zone. His plan also includes the development of a city hotel capable of accommodating 20,000 guests.

Additionally, Nazim has provided a video presentation outlining his intentions for each island within Addu. These plans entail the establishment of an Olympic-level sports facility and an Islamic centre dedicated to promoting Islamic education in Hithadhoo. A university is also part of his vision for Maradhoo, while a 100-bed hospital is to be constructed in Hulhudhoo.

Moreover, Nazim has committed to establishing a nursing home catering to the elderly population and a world-class centre for Arabic and Islamic education in Addu. These proposals collectively reflect his comprehensive approach to enhancing various aspects of the development of Addu.
