Health centres in Kudafari and Fodhdhoo to be expanded

Ministry of Health has signed an agreement with Evosun Maldives Private Limited to construct an extension building for the expansion of health centres in Kudafari and Fodhdhoo, Noonu Atoll.

The project to construct extension buildings for the health centres in Kudafari and Fodhdhoo was contracted to be completed within 365 days at a cost of more than USD1.5 million each.

Developing health facilities in the atolls is one of the highest priorities of the administration. The initiative aims to reduce the reliance on the Greater Male’ Region and allow residents to receive medical treatment and healthcare services near their residential islands. These include the development of tertiary hospitals, the construction of new hospitals, and extension building works. The government has also pledged to develop tertiary hospitals in five regions and the development of extension buildings to increase the space required for health centres and hospitals.
