President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has officially inaugurated the newly upgraded harbour in Hinnavaru, Lhaviyani Atoll. The completion of the harbour upgrading project was marked during his ongoing visit to the atoll.
The Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) was contracted to complete the harbour upgrading project. The project encompassed a range of significant improvements, including deepening the harbour basin, constructing a 123m breakwater and 114m groyne, and installing a 653m quay wall. Other pertinent harbour enhancement initiatives were also executed as part of the project.
The administration stated that it has achieved significant strides towards equitable development across all inhabited islands in the Maldives. This includes enhancing the quality of life for citizens and empowering them to lead dignified lives.
