CSC advises no non-essential appointments in government transition

The Civil Service Commission (CSC) has advised against appointing individuals to positions not deemed essential during the government transition period.

As outlined in the circular released by CSC, civil service agencies are required to adhere to specific procedures for the advertising, recruitment, and promotion of positions, as well as the formulation of administrative structures within the agencies. CSC stated that job positions such as teachers, doctors, nurses, and imams, which are crucial for the consistent delivery of services, will be filled following existing procedures. For any other positions, agencies must seek permission and advertise, providing a clear rationale for the necessity of the role.

Additionally, CSC has mandated the halting of recruitment for positions that have already been advertised. The commission has also called for a review of the administrative structure, including the creation of new positions, with a simultaneous halting of recruitment for newly allocated posts within the administrative framework.

Furthermore, the CSC circular advises the halting of promotions for positions that were slated for internal advertisement, aligning with previous advertisements. Civil service agencies are also directed to halt recruitment on a contractual, wage, and contingency basis.
