BCC opens applications for Hiyala Expo 2023

Business Centre Corporation (BCC) has opened the opportunity for women entrepreneurs to take part in Hiyala Expo 2023.

The event is being organised by BCC in collaboration with Kulhudhuffushi City Council, the Women's Development Committee (WDC) of Kulhudhuffushi, and Haa Dhaalu Atoll Council, and aims to commemorate International Domestic Workers' Day and World Women Entrepreneurs' Day. The expo is scheduled to be held on December 2 in Kulhudhuffushi.

BCC stated that the judging process will include five main product categories, with participants having the chance to be evaluated across multiple categories. Prizes and certificates will be awarded to the first, second, and third-place winners in each category. In addition, stalls will be available to all islands in Haa Dhaalu Atoll and Shaviyani Atoll. BCC ensures that participating entrepreneurs will have the opportunity to showcase their products in a centralised location, and stall allocations are provided free of charge. BCC has extended the registration deadline until October 30.

BCC stated that the primary goal of the expo is to empower women entrepreneurs by offering them a platform to expand their businesses. BCC has noted the positive feedback received from the public regarding the previous expos held in 2021 and 2022.
