Narudhoo School converted to single-session facility

The Ministry of Education has revealed that Narudhoo School has been converted to a single-session facility with the completion of its new building.

The conversion of Narudhoo School into a single-session facility has been carried out following the completion and opening of its new three-storey building. The building was constructed by Wave Length Private Limited at a cost of USD9.2 million. The building consists of six classrooms, a staff room, a computer laboratory, and a health room.

Narudhoo School currently consists of a total of 11 classrooms, accommodating 147 students up to grade 10. The expansion effectively resolved the space constraints faced by the facility.

The administration is implementing a policy to convert newly developed schools to single-session facilities. Under the policy, the school day starts at 0800hrs and concludes all activities by 1400hrs. Students will spend weekends and nights at home unless there is a major school event.

As part of the policy of the administration to convert schools to single-session facilities, four schools in the Greater Male' Region are currently included to be converted. These schools are Dharumavantha School and Izzuddin School in Male' City, Salahuddin School in Hulhumale’ Phase II, and Muhyiddin School in Villingili. A total of 30 schools across the country have also been converted to single-session facilities by the government.
