Gov't signs contract to build mosques in Hulhudhoo, Milandhoo

Ministry of Islamic Affairs has contracted LF Construction Private Limited for the construction of two mosques in Hulhudhoo in Addu City and Milandhoo in Shaviyani Atoll. The agreement for the development of the mosques in both islands was signed by Minister of Islamic Affairs Dr. Ahmed Zahir Ali and Director of LF Construction Ahmed Firaq during a special ceremony held at the Islamic Centre in Male' City.

As part of the project in both islands, LF Construction has been awarded the construction of the mosque with a capacity of 500 worshippers in Hulhudhoo at a cost of more than USD1.1 million. The company has also been awarded the contract for the construction of the mosque in Milandhoo with a capacity of 700 worshippers at a cost of more than USD979,000.

The project is being funded under the government's Public Sector Investment Programme (PSIP). The company has been given 365 days to complete the construction of the mosques, which will be built to accommodate both men and women.
