IUM opens applications for January intake

The Islamic University of the Maldives has opened the application process for a total of 57 courses slated for the first semester on January 2024.

IUM stated the courses includes 13 Masters level courses, one postgraduate course, 13 Bachelors Degree level courses, two courses at the Associate Degree/Advanced Diploma level, 10 courses at the Diploma level, and 17 courses at the certificate level. The primary study areas include Education, Sharia and Law, Finance, Accounting, Fiqh, Leadership and Administration, Journalism, Islamic Studies, as well as Quran, and Language.

The courses will be conducted at various IUM learning Centres situated in Male' City, Fuvahmulah City, Fonadhoo in Laamu Atoll, Hanimaadhoo in Haa Dhaalu Atoll, Naifaru in Lhaviyani Atoll, and Meedhoo in Addu City. Notably, all degree-level courses offered at IUM and its learning centres are tuition-free, in line with the government's free degree programme. Interested students are encouraged to submit their applications for the courses before 1300hrs on December 31. Each course will be conducted with a minimum participation of 15 students.

The commencement of the new academic year is scheduled for January 28. Currently, IUM hosts 1,310 students pursuing studies across various fields.
