Maldives reaffirms commitment to collaborate with OIC

The Maldives has reaffirmed the commitment to collaborate with the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) on topics of mutual interest. The remark was made by President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu during a meeting with Assistant Secretary General for Political Affairs of the OIC Yousef Al-Dobeay.

During the meeting, President Muizzu expressed gratitude to Assistant Secretary General Al-Dobeay for attending the swearing-in ceremony. He reaffirmed the commitment to collaborate with the OIC on shared interests, focusing on the peace and prosperity of Islamic countries.

Additionally, Assistant Secretary General Al-Dobeay congratulated President Muizzu on the successful swearing-in ceremony on behalf of other OIC members. He expressed confidence that President Muizzu's capable administration would drive swift progress in the Maldives. Both leaders also discussed the organisation's efforts to address challenges faced in Islamic countries, with a specific focus on advocating for a ceasefire in Gaza.

Moreover, Assistant Secretary General Al-Dobeay highlighted the dedication of OIC in collaborating with the government of the Maldives and reiterated the organisation's commitment to assisting the Maldives and its citizens in every possible way.
