The government has designated land for the development of the new Arabiyya School building.
The allocated land, situated at Plot 381 in Male' City, was formerly a waste collection centre. President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has decided to develop the new building as part of his roadmap for the first 100 days in office.
As part of President Muizzu’s pledges, allocating a specific area for the construction of a new, modernised building for Arabiyya School and facilitating the more effective delivery of an Arabic-medium curriculum were key commitments. He had also previously assured the designation of land and the initiation of building development upon assuming office.
The development of the new building for Arabiyya School is one of the key priorities of the administration. Arabiyya School students commenced their studies this year in the temporary building of Dharumavantha School. The previous government relocated the students after the authorities decided that the Arabiyya School building was not safe for teaching after signs of wear and tear were found at the premises, including large structural cracks on the building.
