Gov't instructs schools to conclude Grade 10 second term exams before Ramadan

The Ministry of Education has issued a directive instructing schools to conduct the second term examination for Grade 10 students ahead of the holy month of Ramadan.

In an circular, the education ministry noted that several schools expressed a preference for scheduling the examination before the beginning of Ramadan. As such, the ministry has urged schools to administer the second term examination between February 25 and March 14 of the upcoming year. Notably, Ramadan is slated to begin on March 10.

The new administration has expressed its dedication to developing the education sector, with ongoing efforts to explore reforms. Discussions have commenced within the ministry regarding the possibility of shifting the commencement of the academic year to the beginning of the calendar year. However, no specific timeline for implementation has been established at this point. In addition, schools are encouraged to plan supplementary activities in a way that does not interfere with academic teaching.
