Netherlands discusses easing Schengen visa facilitations for Maldivians

The Netherlands has discussed easing Schengen visa facilitations for Maldivian travelers. The discussion was held during a meeting between Vice President Hussain Mohamed Latheef and Karien van Gennip, the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Social Affairs and Employment of Netherlands.

At the meeting, Vice President Latheef and Deputy Prime Minister Gennip discussed avenues to strengthen the existing relations between the two countries. They also discussed ways in easing Schengen visa facilitations for Maldivian travelers, and cooperation in the fields of tourism, trade and fisheries.

Additionally, Vice President Latheef and Deputy Prime Minister Gennip discussed ways to expand training and higher education opportunities for Maldivian youth. The Deputy Prime Minister conveyed that Dutch private-sector enterprises are interested in investing in the Maldives. They concluded their meeting by expressing hope for working together and fortifying the bilateral ties between the two countries.
