President decides to establish Media Village

President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has decided to initiate the establishment of the Media Village. The decision was made following discussions on the proposal presented by the Ministry of Youth Empowerment, Information, and Art to the Cabinet of Ministers.

Speaking at a press conference held at the President's Office, Principal Secretary to the President on Public Policy Abdulla Nazim Ibrahim highlighted the pivotal decision outlined in the proposal, emphasising the allocation of a specific percentage of the state budget for the establishment of a media village. He announced that collaborative efforts with relevant authorities are underway for the establishment of the village.

Additionally, Nazim conveyed that directives have been issued to the relevant authorities to identify suitable land for the media village, outline its utilisation plan, and ensure equitable distribution among media entities. He also said that President Dr. Muizzu has instructed the relevant ministries to undertake the necessary preparations for allocating a designated percentage of the state budget to the media sector.
