MPS to increase number of officers on foot patrol

The Maldives Police Service (MPS) has stated that basic policing will be improved in the coming days, resulting in more officers on foot patrol.

At a press conference, Commissioner of Police Ali Shujau said he intends to improve basic policing to serve the public more closely. He said that having more officers on foot patrol in various parts of the country will result in less crime and residents feeling safer.

Commissioner Shujau also said the most desired outcome from improving basic policing would be the police service being able to investigate cases quickly and providing justice to the victims.
