The HPA encourages the public to exercise caution amidst ongoing heavy rains and floods. As such, the agency stated that items like chairs, sofa sheets, sponges, pillows, books, and similar articles exposed to rainwater should be promptly discarded. The agency also advises disposing of children's toys if they have come into contact with rain water. The agency also warns against allowing children to enter flooded areas, given the presence of various impurities in the water.
Additionally, the HPA highlights the importance of thorough cleaning in homes affected by water. As such, the agency states that debris and contaminants should be removed and walls, floors, and furniture should be washed with water, detergent, or bleach to ensure comprehensive cleanliness. The agency states that it is crucial to allow the areas to dry completely. The agency also advises washing contaminated clothes separately from other garments.
